I'm working on learning basic coding. If there was ever a battle board, I might fair better in battles than I did in the protega gfx tournament ROFL.

Best codes? Any style? Sure as I dont feel like Im in the mood to write/type.. (Just got out of school for the summer with those BIG 1000 question exams. ) Here you are: Yes thats right, version 2 of my table with more extras then ever. Now if you are a guest you can't see the PMs link or any of the links underneath which is another addition, includes links to different parts of the board that you can choose . Creator: Skyrail with assistance from mrhotshotbillupPermissions: This code can be reposted anywhere as long as the header stays intact. Board: thewavelength.proboards99.comVersion: 2 Update: - Version 2.5 - Date in section - Number of PM's Preview: thewavelength.proboards99.comCross Browser: Compatible with IE, FireFox and Opera. (as far as I am aware of) So here it is version 2 of the ATW update table: <!-- ATW Updates Table This can be reposted anywhere as long as this header stays intact. Board: http://thewavelength.proboards99.com/index.cgi? Creater: Skyrail with assistance from mrhotshotbillup Verion: 2 Next Update: - Version 2.5 - Date in section - Number of PM's --> <center> <!-- Edit these to you liking. --> <script type="text/javascript">
//If you add extra quotes in: " " please add a back slash: \ before each one like so: \" if(pb_username == "Guest") { var links = "Please <a href=\"/index.cgi?action=login\">login</a> to use this feature" } else { var links = ("<a href=\"/index.cgi?action=members\" title=\"View the members list\">Members</a> | <a href=\"/index.cgi?action=viewprofile\" title=\"View your profile\">Profile</a> | <a href=\"/index.cgi?action=calendar\" title=\"View the calendar\">Calendar</a> "); } if(pb_username == "Guest") { var welcome = "Welcome to the forum." } else { var welcome = "Welcome to the forum. <br /> You can check your PMs <a href=\"/index.cgi?action=pm\">here</a>"; } var title = "Updates"; var content = "The forum is looking for staff, if you think you can help please apply for a position in the Staff applications board." ; var morn = "Good Morning"; var after = "Good Afternoon"; var eve = "Good Evening" </script> <style type="text/css">
#borders { border-style:solid; border-width:1px; border-color:#000000; } #hborders { border-style:solid; border-width:1px; border-color:#000000; } </style>
<table width="700px" cellpadding="5px" cellspacing="0px" border="0px" > <tr> <td align="center" id="hborders" class="titlebg" colspan="2"> <script type="text/javascript"> document.write(title) </script> </td> </tr> <tr id="hiderow" > <td align="center" id="borders" class="windowbg" valign="middle" width="50%" style="border-top-width:0px; border-right-width:0px;">
<script type="text/javascript"> document.write(content) </script> </td>
<!-- Theres no real need to edit below here, its not complicated though. However you can edit the welcome things.-->
<td align="center" id="borders" class="windowbg" valign="middle" style="border-top-width:0px;" width="50%"> <script type="text/javascript"> var d = new Date() var time = d.getHours() var name = pb_displayname
if (time < 12) { document.write(morn+" "+name+" "+welcome) } else if (time < 17) { document.write(after+" "+name+" "+welcome) } else { document.write(eve+" "+name+" "+welcome) } </script> </td> </tr> <tr id="hiderow2" > <td align="center" id="borders" class="windowbg" valign="middle" style="border-top-width:0px; " colspan="2"> <script type="text/javascript"> document.write(links) </script> </td> </tr> <tr> <td align="center" id="hborders" style="border-top-width:0px; cell-padding:1px;" class="catbg" colspan="2" height="4px" > <a href="#" onclick="this.innerHTML = (this.innerHTML == '+') ? '-' : '+'; var hiderow = document.getElementById('hiderow'); hiderow.style.display = (hiderow.style.display == 'none') ? '' : 'none'; return false;">-</a> </td> </tr>
</table> </center>
Some simple info, it can all be updated in the top section with varibles which makes life easy for many of us. Also the CSS can be updated to if wish for the links section to be seen by the guests as well copy this: var links = ("<a href=\"/index.cgi?action=members\" title=\"View the members list\">Members</a> | <a href=\"/index.cgi?action=viewprofile\" title=\"View your profile\">Profile</a> | <a href=\"/index.cgi?action=calendar\" title=\"View the calendar\">Calendar</a> ");
and paste it under all the other varibles like so: var title = "Updates"; var content = "The forum is looking for staff, if you think you can help please apply for a position in the Staff applications board." ; var morn = "Good Morning"; var after = "Good Afternoon"; var eve = "Good Evening" var links = ("<a href=\"/index.cgi?action=members\" title=\"View the members list\">Members</a> | <a href=\"/index.cgi?action=viewprofile\" title=\"View your profile\">Profile</a> | <a href=\"/index.cgi?action=calendar\" title=\"View the calendar\">Calendar</a> ");
and delete this part: if(pb_username == "Guest") { var links = "Please <a href=\"/index.cgi?action=login\">login</a> to use this feature" } else { var links = ("<a href=\"/index.cgi?action=members\" title=\"View the members list\">Members</a> | <a href=\"/index.cgi?action=viewprofile\" title=\"View your profile\">Profile</a> | <a href=\"/index.cgi?action=calendar\" title=\"View the calendar\">Calendar</a> "); }
this will then allow the guests to see the links to i hope this is all clear. If you need any supoprt please post here

I vote mrhotshotbillup. His code is simple and easily editable to suit your forum. The Admin hack is confusing and it isn't working too well on my test forum.. It's interesting, and cool that it is in your admin panel, but not very convenient... ..:Current Vote Count:.. V - 2 B - 1 (You should go to THREE instead... we don't exactly have enough active people to make it to 5 before Christmas...)

There are enough active people. All someone had to do was add (voting) to the title to catch people's eyes.
