Additional Comments: Just days after Kara's death, Adama is finding it hard to cope and an even harder time accepting that she is truly gone. Concerned for him, Laura Roslin steps in to help him recover from his depression. During this next several weeks, they grow closer and being discussing the eminate trial of former President Baltar.
Lee is also having problems accepting Kara's death, much to Dualla's dismay. Everytime he closes his eyes, he watchs her die again, her Viper engulfed in flames. He blames himself for convincing her to go up with him as her wingman, claiming he should have accepted her word that she was in no condition to fly. So, once again, Kara is a strain on their marriage.
After being trapped in the airlocked chamber together and a brief threat of mutiny, Chief Tyrol and Cally have begun to move past their issues and taking large strides toward salvaging their marriage. However, a growing friendship between Sharon and Galen and an attempt on Nicky's life has Cally headed back down her path of hatred for the Cylons.
In the meantime, the impending trial of former President Gaius Baltar weighs heavy on the crew of Galactica and President Roslin. Gaius, on the other hand, is in high spirits, having been kept company by his invisible version of Six.
Caprica Six is still being held captive in the Cylon holding cell on board Galatica. Her only companion is the invisible Gaius Baltar, who consoles her and gives her strength. In an attempt to figure how much the Cylons know of Earth, Admiral Adama has ordered Colonel Tigh to 'use the carrot' and interrogate Caprica.
Sharon and Helo are still revelling in Hera. Recent events haven't really changed anything between them. They both considered Kara a friend and her death weighs heavily on them both. Sharon's new friendship with Tyrol concerns Helo but in the end he knows the two's past and her love for Helo and their daughter.
Several months before the colonization of New Caprica, the Fleet was joined by a heavily damaged Marine Transport Carrier, the Achilles. The vessel is commanded by Colonel Serania Roslin, lost daughter of the President. During a cylon skirmish, it was revealed that the marines had a new type of fighter known as the Talon to combat the cylon threat.
However, during the battle, Sera's husband of three years, Lee Oben (a member of her Marine squad), was a cylon. He managed to shoot her twice in the chest before he was taken down. The colonel was rushed to the Galactica for treatment.
Since then, she has recovered, returned to flight status, and has begun work with Lt. Gaeta to bring her ship back online.
The duo are slowing working through their prior relationship over 7 years ago, they are slowly getting to know one another and reekindling their old flames. Meanwhile, her husband is determined to finish what he began and eliminate Sera Roslin.
When it finally seems things might start to get better...
Kara Thrace awakens to find herself in a tub of clear, conductive fluid and surrounded by Boomer, Brother Cowell, a Six and her version of Lee Oben.
She was a Cylon.
That's all that mattered to her. It was impossible, another cruel joke put together by Oben. After a time, it was decided that she would not adjust to being a Cylon. So she was released on a Heavy Raider as she demanded. Kara made her way back to Galactica, throwing the entire crew into an uproar.
She tells Adama that she's a Cylon. She is placed in the holding cell along with Caprica for the time until the can make sense of things. Caprica is astonished, never to have thought that Galactica's best pilot would be one of them. It was good programming in her mind.
Apollo is shocked. He was still in love with her and now she was a Cylon, always was. Sam doesn't know what to think or believe. The woman he loved, the woman he married, was humanity's worst enemy. Their marriage was a sham, a lie. But no matter what he believes, he knows he still loves her.
But what is her real reason for returning to Galactica? Why did the Cylons allow her to leave unharmed? And why didn't Sharon tell anyone that Starbuck was a Cylon?
The search for the final four Cylons begins...
