Do you think it's possible to chose the "wrong colors" for a site? What sort of stuff should designers be thinking about when picking colors for skins and matching stuff together?
A wrong color example: Is Brown and blue a good color combination? Are there ways to actually pull it off though?

Don't have contrasting colors. Try to stick with colors of the same area on the color chart (i.e. don't mix 'warm [red/yellows]' colors with 'cool [blues/purples]' colors).

I think that brights and darks can be mixed in a nice way sometimes, but if you try using pure black, and pure white, you'll just get something nasty and painful to look at.

^Tru! As long as you blend well any two colors can look good together

Ok, let me rephrase... EXTREME contrasting colors =P. And yes, it depends on how well you blend, but to get a good blend, its best to use colors on the same side of the color wheel.

Never use pure red and pure yellow together. Unless your goal is to blind people.

Unless your goal is to put it into a vector which is to use those contrasty colors. The reason that those would be bad is because they are way too basic and... well, nothing goes with it in a signature unless you were to use vector. Please, humor me and make one
