Here goes – nothing ventured, nothing gained etc.
I have registered here to get support and/or advice on making our Proboards web site look as cool as we can make it. The board is a closed board for serving or ex members of the senior regiment of the British Army, The Life Guards.
Our uniforms and colours are quite bright and I feel that we could use those colours and pictures from regimental life to make the site unique.
Now the problem I have is that even after reading a lot of your threads here – I obviously don’t speak ‘the language’. Is there anyone who would volunteer to steer me in the right direction or even better volunteer some time and skill to assist?
I do not know anything about how you do your cool artwork, not even which software you need to use to do them either. I am a complete computer art virgin and I will need a lot of guidance, however you will find a willing student if you have the time to help me.
Kind regards,
Paddy

People, let's calm down here... This isn't an internet dating service.. Unless... *freaky thought quickly suppressed*.. nvm. ;D If you have any direct questions or concerns about anything in a certain program, feel free to post them here. We will help you in whatever ways we can.

Sorry for not getting back sooner but I have a few questions that I hope will put me on the right track:
On my board, I have a lot of old soldiers (really) and they have trouble viewing threads etc. Anyway they are quite used to the way the board is just now (extremely basic). I would like to make a few changes but slowly, if you get my meaning.
In the first instance can anyone tell me how I get the posts to separate so that you can see the background between the posts. I think if I can do that and get a nice background picture that it will have a positive impact (for starters) on my board.
Thanks in advance of any constructive advice - Paddy

Matt,
Thanks I tried this but obviously I'm doing something wrong as it didn't work. On our board there is coding in the Main Header and Footer already, does this conflict with the post splitter code?

OK I got this to work but above and below each post is a small white box containing a red cross. How do I get rid of this, please?
