I really need to organize my programs and folders sometime....... My DesktopAll Programs FolderIs it safe to move and change directories in that folder? If I sort it out into 5 to 10 main folders, will it cause any broken linking with shortcuts and programs?

And thanks, I'll look into sorting it out when I have the time.

Uh...DesertFlame... why do you have 2 antiviruses installed...? You know that's not a good thing to do, right? You should only have 1 AV installed, otherwise its going to slow down your system and possibly give you problems... Anti-malware/antispy on the other hand...you can have as many programs as you want.

I use both norton and AVG at the same time. I've only ever had 1 problem, and that is when one has a problem, like wanting me to update it or run a scan, they both want me to do it.

Norton is stupid anyway. I can't see why anyone would want to use that.

You sadden me...why would you use Norton with a better AV? AVG > norton. Run this ASAP: service1.symantec.com/Support/tsgeninfo.nsf/docid/2005033108162039=P You're just slowing your system down unnecessarily...

I might remove it, but I'll decide that later.
Edit: In other words: After I run a full system scan and see if it catches any viruses/downloaders.. I've been a baaad boy lately and I'm pretty sure there's some junk in there somewhere lol.

Yeah, Norton won't catch much man . I took it off all of our PC's at work, because when one of our systems got infected, norton said it removed like 10 things, and couldnt remove a few others. So I just disabled Norton, and installed AVG Free... Yeah, AVG found about 20 other downloaders/trojans/etc that Norton didn't. In combination with HiJackThis, and Trojan Remover...I got it cleaned out...as well as a bit of manual cleaning (which was a pain >.<). I'm just trying to help you out man, because I've seen a lot of bad things happen with Norton first hand.

Ok, I gave Norton one last shot at proving itself. I ran a full system scan, which took FOREVER, and it found nothing at all. Image After Norton ScanTime: Roughly 5 hours. Now I plan to uninstall Norton (using a tool, not the Windows uninstall method) and then run a full system scan with AVG. If AVG finds ANYTHING AT ALL I will never install Norton again. (Although I will keep the key, just in case. )

Well, I just finished the AVG scan. The ResultsHmm, funny. I only had some low-level tracking cookies (26 that I moved to the vault) and nothing a all serious. I suppose I'll stick to AVG though, since it scanned 200k more files and took 3 hours less to scan than Norton. (Although to be fair, I was browsing normally while scanning with Norton.) Anyone know the top free anti-spyware and anti-adware programs? I use BHO (AMAZINGLY pointless.. Should I just get rid of it?), I'm downloading the latest ad-aware version, I have Spybot search and destroy (downloading 1.6 atm), and SmitFraudFix (Used it to destroy an annoying Trojan downloader a while back) Oh, and any more desktops?

Norton's like that on all computers, even when they're idle it takes 4hours+. I have no idea why, when AVG and others can do it in an hour or less.
I use: Ad-Aware (rarely); Malwarebytes Antimalware, Panda Antirootkit, Spybot, Spyware Terminator, Spyware Blaster (supposed to prevent you from getting Spyware in the first place by putting harmless code into the registry), CCleaner (or nCleaner for more advanced users), and HiJackthis.

I know i got this pc from a friend with AVG allready installed the thing is, is when i installed Norton it found like 14 other viruses avg didnt. i think i need to update avg though anyways before i get rid of one i want to know witch one is best, im hearing norton is neter but takes up alot of cpu but i dont know how good AVG is. so the question is what is better: Avasts 4.8 home edition or AVG?

I haven't dealt much with Avast, honestly. Both are very good free AV's. I've heard some people have better luck with Avast, and some have better luck with AVG. Personally I think Nod32 is the best.
Oh, BTW...where did you hear that Norton was better >.<.... Norton sucks....$50 (or more if they get you to buy their Norton 360 garbage) for something that free AV's (or cheaper such as Nod32) can do better...
