I don't know how they won that case. Oh well though. At least they aren't going after people who have uploaded copyrighted material.

The judge and jurors aren't internet savvy and they didn't realize the true implications. They thought it was like giving them TV show ratings I'm guessing.

It's essentially Spyware to the extreme. They are a media company and instead of just seeing how often copyrighted videos are watched, they want to know better ways to market their merchandise... So they force an ignorant judge to get Youtube to hand over 12 Terabytes of information regarding viewing habits.
