Anyone here use it? Installed it on my laptop today and so far I am very pleased. Performance wise it has exceeded Vista by a long run.

I have it as a Virtual Machine on my computer, and it is pretty nice. I only tried using it for a bit though. I have Xubuntu installed on my old PC, but I hardly ever use it. I'd like to get more used to it and try it more, but I'm pretty happy with Leopard right now.

I have it installed on my laptop, dual-booting with Vista. I also have it installed along w/ Vista on a secondary drive on my desktop, but the install is f'd, and I need to redo it. Have you tweaked anything much yet, Dustin?

By tweaking you mean? lol. Just want to make sure we're on the same page here before I sound like an idiot.
I have yet to modify it to an extreme extent UI-wise. Changed the login page and theme. Instsalled a few programs. That's about all I've done so far. Not used to Linux so I'm still just getting used to it. ;D

Ah, lol, ok.
Yeah, I meant tweak it visually. I made mine look kinda like Vista (the minimize/maximize/close buttons anyway) lol. I like the desktop effects, though. Get Compiz-Fusion if you haven't already.

It hasn't worked well for me. I can't even get the internet to work with it, so I don't use it anymore.

I told you in another thread, you have to find drivers for it . I had to find modified drivers for my wifi card in my laptop to get it to work right (what a heck of a time that was...).

Yeah it didn't work on my desktop at all. Couldn't find the right drivers either. My laptop worked fine though. Everything was already there for drivers. From the touchpad to the sound card to the wifi card. ;D
EDIT: Ok so it didn't have Compiz. Trying to install it and I can't figure out how to. Running the comands in terminal that it tells me to but all I get it errors. Assuming I need to get to the directory of the files for the install but when I lead it to the directory it says it does not exist. Any ideas on what I'm doing wrong?

Use the Package Manager to manually install things; terminal is usually a last-resort thing .

Hmm thought the add/remove programs thing was the manager. Just found it though. Guess I do have compiz installed. ;D

never heard of it. what is it? Its a Linux distrobution. A free/open source OS. @dustin: Let me get into Ubuntu on my laptop, and I can suggest a Compiz add-on that you can use to tweak a bunch of stuff from your icon tray. Edit: Ok, go to System > Administration > Synaptic Package Manager > search for 'fusion-icon' (without the quotes). Oh, and here's my Ubuntu desktop as of 5 minutes ago: i34.tinypic.com/m9vner.pngi38.tinypic.com/34e6zjd.pngi37.tinypic.com/xbbw90.png

I actually have fusion-icon installed. When I click/double-click the icon my system does nothing though.

You gotta right-click, if you haven't tried that already. That'll bring up a context menu.

Hmm..odd. You can get to the same advanced settings by going to System > Preferences > Advanced Graphics options, or something like that. Can't remember what it's called...I'm at work right now and don't have access to my laptop lol.
Oh, and protip: if you use Emerald theme manager, and your theme isn't showing up after you install it... Press Ctrl+Alt+Backspace to restart the X server (Ubuntu's graphics server).

Hmm I actually knew that restarted the x-server. :-)
I am still messing with Compiz and it hasn't really impressed me. :-P Haven't been able to achieve some of the effects I've seen in some videos.

What kind of graphics card do you have in your laptop? And how much memory does it have on it? Cuz I can do all of the nice effects that Compiz has to offer, and it has integrated graphics. Effects run rather nicely, too, might I add.
