What if XDD had a code that gave +1 karma every time you make a new thread? It could be placed in General Chat, Graphics Chat, and the coding discussion boards.
Might improve activity? (Would be kind of cool at least. ;D)
Suggestions/comments/ideas? Post here!

I generally agaisnt doing anything with karma. I like it to be there for fun.
Is this thread also for suggesting ideas that might help? Using the money hack might help some.

The money hack would be good for things like buying custom titles and colored names, but we have things like that in the contest board. Sometimes the karma might get out of control (flaming, people against one person, etc.), but for the most part it doesn't. The only thing that might be bad for this idea is people spamming threads and not a lot of posting, just thread starting. Maybe if every week if you make at least 1 thread you get +1 karma(not saying more threads stack karma).

I think it met be a good idea, but yet it could also be a bad idea. The reason why I think it met be a bad idea is because everyone would start spamming the boards that give you the Kamra. Y'all really don't need that going on here. The reason why I think it's a good idea is because it would raise the active here.

Upon consideration, I had another idea. What if we contests based around these discussion boards that reaped rewards without causing spam?

That sounds good, but yet I think you should tell people what boards they are just incase there are some that don't follow the rules.

I wouldn't say every 1 topic, that'll give people extreme amounts of Karma =/ SI (thanks to Simie) did it by every 10 posts, but I do like the topic idea. Maybe every 5 topics?

I think I agree with smangii, things like post amounts would be good for karma, but not threads, unless it were like every 5 threads or somethiong.

Smangii has a good idea. That way no one could really spam.

or they would get annoyed with trying to spam up their karma.

Every 5 topics sounds good, But If every member made only 1 thread to help start boosting their karma, there would be too many topics

or they would get annoyed with trying to spam up their karma. Pikablu does have a good point too. If you do it every 10 topics or something along the line people will probably still spam. Remember there are a lot of none rule followers out there like the Carnage that now goes by that CSI: Mamai guys name. (Oops. Think I didn't spell that city right. I should know how to spell it since I lived in Florida awhile back.) My suggestion is if you want to do it do it and don't tell people about it. Only let the mods know and people that you think won't spam up the board, so that they know.

I think I agree with smangii, things like post amounts would be good for karma, but not threads, unless it were like every 5 threads or somethiong. Either make it for every 5 threads started OR Do it for like every ten CONSTRUCTIVE responses OR both lol

How could a code tell if the response was constructive?

Determining it by post length would be the only way.

Determining it by post length would be the only way. Thats what I meant. A constructive post is at least 2 sentences long. Another way to do it is to do if for the number of characters typed. Like for every hundred characters
