Okay, this is more or a "help" topic than anything.. and has very little to do with XDD, apart from me getting to it.
I recently formatted my hard-drive on my computer(currently using my dad's) and now it's impossible for me to setup my Internet by connecting through this one as I previously did.
I use a LAN which connects to the internet and I have used the wizard and selected a broadband connection that is always on, but nothing happens.
Help would be appreciated!

I'll wait till tommorow, my Granddad originally set it up in the first place and he's round tomorrow anyway so I'll ask him about it. I'll ring my ISP after-wards if it doesn't work, thanks for the idea!

I just experienced something similar to this yesterday, because I had to reinstlal XP on somebody's PC at work yesterday =P. Do this:
Right click on My Computer > properties > hardware tab > device manager. Is there a yellow exclamation mark next to anything that relates to an ethernet controller or something like that? If so, go to your manufacturer's website (whatever company built the computer, I'm assuming it's a prebuilt?) and download the drivers for the eithernet controller. I did that, and it fixed the problem right away =).

That is apart of the problem, it didn't ever need any drivers and in the device manager it doesn't even show up. It does on this pc but not on the other =?

Every peice of hardware needs drivers man. Is the ethernet integrated (built onto the motherobard) or is it a separate PCI card? If it's integrated, go to the manufacurter's website and d/l drivers for it. If it's a separate PCI card, then turn your PC off, open the case up, remove the card and put it in another PCI slot. Boot back up, and use the driver disc that came with the card. If you cant find it, then go to the website and d/l the drivers for the card.

The card probly had drivers on it already. You didn't have to install drivers, but it did install drivers for the card. Every piece of hardware you have takes drivers to make it run on Windows.
